It's tough for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The top summits have already been conquered.

This is the team that has won seven Cricket World Cups, along with another six T20 titles, and once went over three years without defeat in 50-over cricket.

The remaining milestones, the ones sought by the record chasers, are the only things left for a team that has won it all.

The fact it required up to Sunday's victory by three wickets over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase above 300, regaining their record for the largest in the female 50-over format, is, in truth, a compliment to the pitchers that have worn canary yellow over five decades.

It's difficult for their batters to maintain a record if not afforded the opportunity.

In the end, the result of Australia conceding 330 was captain Alyssa Healy receiving a platform to produce her latest masterpiece.

Then best known as the teenage relative of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she debuted in 2010 after her country didn't secure either of the T20 or ODI World Cups from the prior year and has witnessed all through 15 championship-filled years since.

A T20 championship victory arrived three months after her bow and seven world titles have come from 10 efforts across formats.

The tough gloveman was also there in Derby in 2017 when a last-four loss by India momentarily interrupted the winning streak.

That loss "drove us to rethink our standards," Healy commented earlier.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the title decider and was awarded tournament MVP. She guaranteed her country would not come up short.

Whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement can be debated.

Some will argue the case for the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the test that comes when confronting a historic chase and a raucous India-supporting crowd of 20,000.

What's clear is this hundred was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this knock came after six matches in India from the beginning of the previous month in which she had not exceeded 30 runs.

"If you've observed me in the nets, it has been a disappointing period because it appeared I lacked timing completely," said Healy.

"However when you step out on the field, your competitive instincts activate and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has consistently been her key asset - and a priceless quality in taking over from legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was troubled by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in last month's ODI series, dismissed by the young fast bowler in every game, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

One run resulted off Gaud's first delivery and after that the right-hander was underway.

"A chance to go out there and lock in a contest with her and merely enjoy the moment in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," commented Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 balls - her fastest at the World Cup - and her ton in 84 balls as she flogged anything short, hitting 21 fours and three sixes.

Once she was out Australia needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now demanding an easy conclusion.

"To chase 330 is uncharted waters so I am glad we have the confidence to achieve that now," added Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to do it another time but, if we do, we are confident we can succeed."

Those words will be the final thing rival teams at this championship need to hear.

During the last week a sense they will win from any position has only strengthened - this success succeeding win against Pakistan by 107 run margin despite sitting at 76-7 at one stage.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with traditional opponents England in Indore in ten days, by which point a last-four spot may likely be confirmed.

It was in the semi-finals they left the prior year's T20 World Cup in a surprising setback by South Africa - a game Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the inaugural occasion at a major tournament.

So great is her will, she subsequently stated she regretted not playing through the pain.
