Ex- Doctor Accused of Assault Allegations Involving 38 Individuals in His Care

Legal authorities report that a ex- doctor stands accused of carrying out sexual assaults against 38 victims who were patients.

The Serious Charges

Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – including acts against children younger than 13 – spanning the period from 2017 to 2021.

A deputy chief prosecutor commented, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a thorough and intricate police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to establish that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the public interest.”

Scope of the Investigation

These allegations come after what police called a “detailed inquiry” into alleged assaults at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.

The defendant is due to appear at the local magistrates' court on January 20th.

Breakdown of Charges

Prosecutors outline the forty-five sexual offences include:

  • Fifteen counts of sexual assault.
  • Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
  • 9 counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
  • Three counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
  • One count of attempting to assault by penetration.

Authorities are urging anyone with concerns to contact the investigating team.
