I will overwhelm 'credible fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight round contest which will be shown live on Netflix.

Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "defeat" his opponent as the combatants met personally to promote the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Ex two time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, theoretically, a huge disparity - at Miami arena on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to injure his face and hurt his body. My goal is to show I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, stated.

"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to genuinely try to cause him pain. That's my goal."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - normally famous for his showmanship - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.

Paul rather targeted former Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian declined a fight offer.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Joshua, at the same time, criticized UK opponent Tyson Fury - and rejected a £1m bet 'The Gypsy King' says he will place on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Fighter

In spite of saying he intends to hurt Jake Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's fighting skills.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he stated.

Paul's Background

Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought MMA fighters or declining opponents since entering professional boxing.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of boxing's greatest money-making draws, regularly earning huge financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old forecast a stoppage in round four or five and asserted he would prevent the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Physical Disparity

As the two fighters participated in the usual confrontation, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how surprising this complete situation is - and how amazing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
