Iranian Forces State Strike on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Widespread Counterattacks.
Iranian forces say they have struck a US naval base in Bahrain, as the country executed missile attacks throughout the Middle East in response for a "massive" and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an area in the area of the headquarters of the US Navy's Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The scope of any destruction is uncertain and the American officials has remained silent.
Missile Defenses Activated
Elsewhere across the region, the UAE, the State of Qatar and Kuwait - which all house US military bases - stated they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In the Qatari capital, Qatar's defence ministry announced it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles apparently targeting the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the Middle East.
Operation "Truthful Promise 4"
Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said in a statement it was attacking US bases and assets as part of operation "Truthful Promise 4", in reprisal for the offensive on the Islamic Republic carried out by the US and Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on locations associated with the Tehran's leadership, with President Trump calling on the people of Iran to revolt against the leadership.

In Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces said it had detected an incoming Iranian missile barrage.
The Ministry of Defence of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses dealt with the missiles with notable success and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.
It said missile fragments landed in a populated district in Abu Dhabi, resulting in some property damage and the death of one civilian.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of Abu Dhabi, along with the UAE Air Force.
