Netflix Selects Spot-On Actor for Bon Clay in One Piece Season 3

The Secret Organization is poised to play a huge role in the next installment of Netflix’s show of One Piece, though the true confrontation won’t unfold until the third season, and a cherished, fan-favorite member has just been cast.

The platform declared this week that the talented performer is now part of the One Piece cast for the third season and will embody Bon Clay. Bon Clay possesses the power to transform into an perfect replica of anyone they’ve made contact with with their dominant hand. The actor, who is non-binary and uses they/them pronouns, will depict a version of that character reimagined as gender non-binary, instead of as a drag queen, in the live-action show, unlike the source material and cartoon version.

Escola joins multiple new cast members tasked with bringing Baroque Works to reality, including head Mr. 0, portrayed by Joe Manganiello, Sophia Anne Caruso as a key member, and a familiar face, who also joins the cast as King Nefertari Cobra of the desert kingdom.

Even though this character is a key figure of the organization, the character won’t make their debut One Piece the upcoming installment. With the second season set to cover the Little Garden storyline, this signals a major departure in the schedule of Bon Clay’s introduction, one that could indicate more adjustments to the plot development.

Their mix of precise humor and emotional depth makes them a standout choice for the part. In addition to their latest vocal work in the youth-focused cartoon movie Boys Go to Jupiter, they earned widespread acclaim and numerous honors for writing and starring in the successful stage production Oh Mary!, highlighting the adaptability they’ll contribute to one of One Piece’s highly regarded characters.

The platform’s adapted One Piece series is due to premiere for its second season on March 10, 2026.
