The former Liverpool manager admits rejoining to coach Liverpool is theoretically possible.

Jurgen Klopp, who left Liverpool in 2024, has suggested that rejoining the club remains an option. The 58-year-old, following a hugely successful nine-year spell which brought continental glory and the Reds’ first league title in 30 years, currently occupies roles as head of global soccer within the Red Bull organization and providing guidance with the German Football League.

Fan Sentiment and Klopp’s Candid Remarks

They secured England's top flight under Arne Slot, but many fans holding him in high esteem would be thrilled by the idea that he might come back one day. During an extensive chat, he shared with Steven Bartlett: “I declared I will never coach any other side in England. So that means if then it’s Liverpool...yes. Theoretically it’s possible.”

“At 58 years old, that means I might decide later on, it's uncertain. Do I have to make the decision today? In that case, I'd stay away. Luckily, it's not necessary. I'll wait and observe how things unfold.”

Conditions for a Comeback

When asked about which situations must arise to bring him back to the touchline, he confessed he feels no immediate pull toward coming back. “I don’t even know exactly, My present work fulfills me,” he said. “I don’t miss coaching; I don’t miss standing under bad weather for two-and-a-half or three hours; No need for media briefings repeatedly each week or having 10-12 interviews a week.

“I don’t miss the dressing room per se, yet sharing a meal with the team enjoying conversation, is pleasant. With many victories so there was often positive atmosphere around the place. Remaining with me is the captain's chuckle vividly recalled to illustrate.”

Praise for His Successor

He spoke highly of the current boss, praising him for the tweaks that took the title in the previous season. Liverpool have lost a string of losses in every contest post heavy investment, but he rubbished the notion that it might signal a decline.

“[Liverpool have] a phenomenal forward such as Wirtz, doubters will be silenced if spoken against. A remarkable prospect. The French striker, superb talent. This is a well-built balanced team. You don’t have to worry over the club, they will be fine.”

Emotional Tribute for Diogo Jota

The manager expressed deep feeling regarding the passing of Jota, a 2020 acquisition while in charge, and the effect on Liverpool. The Portugal international was killed in a car crash alongside his brother in July.

“How do you replace such an individual? It goes beyond his footballing ability, his personality mattered. I struggle to conceive the squad missing him. I find it difficult to discuss regarding this. A devastating blow for all the boys too. No one within the club will ever use it for poor performances but it is the situation. Being in that space which he filled completely. Coping with it individually is not easy. Unbearable.”
